Murals

Design & Illustration

Painting murals has always been a passion of mine. Often I enlist the help of adults and children to bring out the artist in a ll of us.

A. Entire room was designed and painted with a Dr. Seuss theme. Furniture was also painted and a life size Cat in the Hat was constructed using paper mâché. Every detail was planned around various Dr. Seuss books and themes.

B. These Window paintings were done as a volunteer at the Children's Hospital wing located at the Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, WI. Several adults and children in this waiting area assisted with the painting.

C. I painted this entire room for my son depicting a transformation from Day into Night. The painting includes multiple black light illustrations along with a complete layout of the star and planet configurations seen from Appleton, WI on the night of his birth. The actual configurations were painted with invisible black light paint and only show up when the black light is turned on. The walls, door and woodwork were all painted to appear to remove the edges and corners of the walls. The sun and moon were constructed from layered cardboard. The ceiling fan was built to look like a UFO. The closet depicts a city that appears in 3d and displays the best from the height of my son at that time. I told him the building with the yellow window was his office with the light on.
